Family time on a Friday evening

I have been so busy lately. Life is back as a madness rush being a FTWM. Rushing for work in the morning (stepping out of the house would be harder or more sad if the kids cry especially so on a Monday morning after the weekend), rushing for meetings at work, rushing for projects / tasks to progress, rushing for approval, rushing to clear urgent tasks or as much as work as possible so that I can go off on time to spend quality time with my kids.

Oh! And I have cultivated a terrible habit! I brought work home. Yes, guilty as charged. In order to fulfill my promise to my girl of being home before the skies turn dark, I usually bring my work home so that I can continue working after settling their dinner. Now that I have resume working, we will either bring the kids and my parents out for dinner or we will buy on our way back. Anyway, the life as a FTWM is another story for another day.

Now that it is the school hols, there are many activities for kids and this is the time for animation movies to be released. My hubs proposed bringing the kids out for movies on Friday after work so we brought movie tickets for "How to train your dragon 2".

As usual, my hubs picked me up at my office and we went home to prep the kids for dinner and movie. And there was a sweet surprise for my hubs when we got home.

Handicraft works from the kids for their precious daddy. Happy Daddy's Day!
Then we proceeded to Bishan for our dinner before the movie screening. It was already 8pm when we had our dinner! Well, the challenges and woes of working parents. Dinners are usually served late. Anyway, the kids were in high spirits as they knew they will be watching "Toothless" after the meal. And they started a series of selfies and ended up with great photos during the dinner.

Awwwww, these kids really know how to pose with all sorts of expressions and monkey faces. They simply looked so cute and hilarious in these shots.

After the dinner, it was almost time for movie. The daddy decided to indulge them with a pack of popcorn which the kids held dearly to during the movie. The youngest was more interested in reaching out to the popcorn than the movie itself. Mid-way through the movie, the boy started his crankiness and the daddy had to carry him away from the seat so that he would not disturb the rest. Eventually, my hubs carried him to sleep and stood at the back to finish the movie.

My girl enjoyed the show. Though there was a point when she asked "Mummy, is it going to finish soon? I'm tired." Well, it was their usual bedtime then. With a 9.15pm screening time, we were prepared for the kids to sleep on their way back. As expected, the boy slept halfway through the show but my chatty girl continued to yak all the way home till I tuck her in to bed.

It was a great Friday night out with the family! Time for the family and focus for the kids. The kids were delighted and happy. And that is what matters most.
