My hubs and I decided that she is old enough to sleep on her own bed. It's pretty easy to convince my girl to sleep on her own new bed. All we need is to shop for bedsheet with her favourite characters & she will get all excited about sleeping on her princess bed. Afterall, she is still sleeping in the same room as us except that she will be snoozing on her own bed with more space to roll about.
Alas! The excitement did not last long. Guess she has gotten so used to squeezing with us on the same bed so she will request to sleep with us. Fall asleep and I will carry her to her bed so that everyone can enjoy a more spacious sleep. But she tend to wake up in the wee hours and she will snuggle up next to me and continue sleeping.
As though 3 are not crowded enough, we realised that Jayven loves to sleep on our bed too. He can sleep through the night if he is sleeping with us on our bed. Playpen? He will wake up every 1-2 hours and screams and cries till we pacify him back to sleep. Why don't I place him back to the playpen when he fell asleep? Either he will wake up immediately and repeat the "drive-me-nuts" crying drama or he will wake up 1-2 hours later and start the drama (which means everyone in the room will wake up including his jiejie & she will join in the drama). So guess we had to compromise a lil if we want to sleep through the night.
Hence on a good night (when the lil ones fall asleep earlier and I can carry them to their respective beds), me and my hubs will get to enjoy some quality sleep before the firstborn and secondborn invade our bed. On nights that we are tired, the lil ones will get to squeeze with us on the bed and the parents are usually the ones to fall asleep before them. Why is that so? Well, they are busy playing with each other.
Perhaps it is time to upgrade to a bigger bed.
